Wednesday Wisdom: Pedro Calderon De La Barca

In celebration of Latino Conservation Week (July 11th – 19th), we’re acknowledging the Latino community’s strong support for protecting natural resources. The Sierra Club and the National Council of La Raza announced a national survey in 2012, finding that:

  • More than 9-in-10 (92%) Latino voters agreed that they “have a moral responsibility to take care of the wilderness and forests, the oceans, lakes and rivers.”
  • More than 9-in-10 Latino voters (94%) said that outdoor activities such as fishing, picnics, camping, and visiting national parks and monuments are important to them and their families.

For this week’s Wednesday Wisdom, we’re sharing a few words from Pedro Calderon de la Barca, a renowned dramatist, poet, writer, soldier and Roman Catholic priest from the Spanish Golden age.
